SILESTONE
			Features of Silestone: 93% Quartz and 7% pure Resin Manufactured in Spain since 1989 Quartz is the 4th hardest substance known to man; only diamonds, sapphires and topaz are harder. Stain resistant Heat resistant Non-Porous surface Hygienic, food safe surface that will not promote bacteria. NSA (National Sanitation Association) approved. Bleaches and ammonia-based cleaners can be used for cleanup. Does not have fissure, pitting and quality issues, unlike some other natural stones. Colors are consistent; therefore it is unnecessary for customers to view the entire slab. Maintenance free (no sealing, polishing or reconditioning necessary). A superior seam is achieved compared to Granite due to the density of the material and very little chipping when cut. Nosing joints are inconspicuous. Under mount sink cut outs are prepared and polished in the same manner as for Granite. Sheet size is 55" x 120" (54" x 119" useable) Slab thickness available in 2CM (3/4") and Special Order 3CM (1") Weight is comparable to Granite 10 year material warranty

SOAPSTONE
			A light coloured natural stone with a slippery "soap-like" texture. It is made mostly of talc, a very soft mineral and thus is very malleable and easy to cut or shape. Aesthetically, soapstone creates a very natural "rustic" look that can also be used in modern designs. Soapstone is also known as steatite and is often used instead of granite or marble.

GRANITE
			A Granite counter top always makes a statement. Its natural beauty creates a unique and yet elegant impression that you can be sure will never go out of style. Granite comes in wide range of colours and is classified into three pricing categories (low, medium and high range). The Granite is sealed to protect against staining and surface damage. However, if desired, it can also be polished. Granite has become one of the most popular materials for kitchen counter tops and many other applications. Granite is a solid and durable material that will retain its beauty for a lifetime.

MARBLE AND LIMESTONE
			Marble and limestone have the same properties as Granite but are softer and lower in density. They are usually used in bathroom renovation (too soft for kitchen counter top applications). They also need to be sealed to prevent staining.

			Concrete is another alternative stone-like material for kitchen counter tops. It should be sealed in order to prevent staining.

SOLID SURFACE
			Features of Solid Surface: Hundreds of colors to choose from Consistency between dye lots Could be customized with inlays Easy to keep clean Usually in semi-gloss or mat finish Can be sanded and grooved like wood Nonporous and food safe Stain resistant Brand names usually sold are Corian and Acryflek. Solid Surface (Corian) Corian, from DuPont, is a mixture of natural minerals and pure acrylic resin that creates an ideal surface for any counter top. It is durable, easy to clean and non-porous. It is also food safe and moisture resistant. There are about a hundred colours to choose from to suit the decor of any room. Solid Surface (Acryflek) Acryflek is a homogenous, non-porous material formulated with acrylic modified polyester resin and fire resistant filler. The colour and texture is consistent throughout its thickness, which allows for three-dimensional shaping. It is hygienic and resistant to chemicals and stains which makes is suitable for areas of food preparation and areas subject to moisture. It is also a Canadian made product.

CULTURED MARBLE
			Cultured marble is a precise blend of polyester resin, catalyst, fillers and pigments, thoroughly mixed and placed into open molds which are coated with a clear gelcoat. In layman's terms, it is a mixture of fiberglass resin and crushed limestone that creates a tough, durable, non-porous and shiny surface that is very stain resistant and easy to maintain. Cultured marble is even softer and lighter in weight than normal marble or limestone and thus is also generally only used in bathrooms.
